The Love Tree

There is a tree in St. Augustine, Fl called the Love Tree. Its located on Cordova St. if you ever happen to go. 

A sable palm tree is literally growing through and up and out of the heart of an oak tree, as you can see in the pictures above.

I'm sure its not the only time to have ever occurred in the history of the earth but it was pretty cool to see in person. 

According to www.see-staugustine.com "if you kiss your love under the tree, you will have everlasting romance. This fairy tale ending must be true. Generations of romantic couples have kissed here and come back on their anniversary to kiss again."

Hmm, I suppose when I find my true love I'll have to bring him down to Auntie's for a visit and go kiss him under the tree! ;)

Sometimes You Just Need to Be FREE!

So I finally joined the Vine community. I'm SHEdesignswithgrace if anyone wants to follow me. So far I've just filled my account up with videos of my adorable little guy Fritz. I always want to say puppy but he's actually going to be 13 years old in June :( I just love him so much, the idea of him getting older and someday not being here to bring the joy and love he does makes me depressed! 

Which might be why I take so many picture and now videos of him!

Anyway, we've been going on a lot of walks lately and the path down across from our house leads down to the lake our community is on, so I like to let Fritz off his leash and let him feel a bit of freedom to explore. It's quite adorable. He's very serious about exploring every square inch of leafy ground and jumping up on logs or the dock bench looking off into the distance like he's king of the forest.

Sweet Valentine: Gillian & Michael

Last weekend I had the absolute pleasure of reconnecting with a wonderful friend from college who I had lost touch with! When Gillian saw my 30 for 30 that I started advertising last month she asked if I could take shots of her and her Valentine of 11 (I think) years and I was like YES! And we set a date.

They live up in Northern Virginia but drove all the way to Richmond just to have me take their pictures! (Hello, I'm super flattered!) And knowing that Mike proposed to Gillian at Maymont, I suggested that as the place for our shoot which Gillian seemed delighted with!

It was one of the prettiest days we'd had in a while what with all the dreary days of winter and while it was definitely blustery with the wind, the sun was shining! 

I tend to still doubt my self and my abilities behind the camera, even after having it attached to me for nearly 11 years so it is always really nice when God reminds me that he has given me this ability and has great plans for it! 

And let me just tell you, as I looked through Gillian and Michael's images as I uploaded them from the camera I almost wanted to cry! Not because I think I'm anything special, but because G&M are just such a beautiful couple and God gave me such an awesome opportunity to capture the beauty of their relationship! 

So Gillian and Michael.. I hope you two love birds have an especially happy and wonderful Valentine's Day celebrating life together and thank you so very very much for allowing me to capture the beautiful friendship of husband and wife that is between you two!
